On Tuesday October 29th at 6:30 pm, Slow Food Cleveland will launch a series of gatherings to share a meal, and have a presentation/discussion around a timely food related topic. These gatherings are the Slow Food Café.
This gathering will be held at Dave’s Learning Kitchen which is inside Dave’s Supermarket on E. 61st and Chester. Plan to arrive early to purchase food from Dave’s many prepared food stations. Beverages will be provided. Plenty of free parking is available.
Jacqueline Acho, PhD will discuss:
“Better Living, not Through Chemistry, but Through Food"
Jackie Acho is a STEM chick. She loved science so much that she studied chemistry all the way to a PhD at MIT. She still loves how science helps us understand the world.
The world is beautifully designed. It’s all more clever than anything we humans can make. Therein lies the issue…
In her talk, Jackie will share how she woke up from the belief that technology can save us and learned how to reclaim health for her family and herself through better nutrition, clean living, and natural living. Along the way, she discovered the toxic burden put onto our bodies by what she calls an Empathy Deficit Disorder, the title of a new book she recently published.
